NOTICE OF DEADLINE EXTENSION!!!!

Education Reimbursement DEADLINE has been extended.

Reimbursement will be distributed on a percentage basis depending on the amount budgeted for the year and the number of members who request reimbursement. The following classes may be submitted for reimbursement; PMN Courses, Broker Courses, Realtor® Designation Courses and other certification courses approved by the Governing Board. The member must be in good standing having attended at least six paid events, of which a minimum of three (3) events must be business resource meetings, and must hold their primary membership in the Naples on the Gulf Chapter. Reimbursement requests must be submitted in writing on a Check Request Form with original receipt(s) and copies of the Completed Certificate attached by December 10th 19th of the current year. Requests will be reviewed and approved before the end of the fiscal year.

Return all forms and receipts to the 2011 Treasurer NO LATER THAN December 19th.

Rae Wakelin of Amerivest Realty is the WCR Book Club Facilitator and is very excited to offer this quarterly event.

This is a group product and would be underwritten by Allstate Insurance. This is a simplified issue product that would be affordable for all of our membership. It is offered to all WCR Members and WCR Members families. This not only benefits our existing membership but is a tool for retention and growth of the Naples-on-the- Gulf Chapter. The insurance programs are billed directly to the member on an annual or monthly bank draft. This offering is completely voluntary!

The Awards Committee does not just recogize Chair Persons or Board Members. They are on a constant watch reviewing members that go “above and beyond”.

Anita Colletti was the 2011 Entrepreneurial Winner. Congratulations !!

Paul Schmidgall Our first September recipient is a Realtor with London Bay Homes. When just out of high school he joined the Army and served from 1988 until 1992. He was stationed in Germany and this is where his aspirations to become a Chef began. He’s a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, and he earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix. Beginning in 1998 he spent time working as a private chef here in Naples. However, it was during a visit to Spain which inspired his love of Paella, a rice dish mixed with vegetables, meat, beans, or seafood, leading him to open his new business, Chef Paul’s Paella. Paul catered the 2011 WCR Naples-on-the-Gulf Wine Pairing Event helping to make this fundraiser so successful! Paul provides a unique catering experience, whether it’s on your lanai, in your home, or at the beach. An avid athlete, Paul has trained and raced in several triathlons. Congratulations to Paul Schmidgall.

Rosemary Hammar

Our second Shining Star recipient is a Realtor with the Harris Team for John R. Wood, Realtors, and has been active in Naples real estate since the 1980’s. She holds designations as an Accredited Buyers Representative, and is a WCR Leadership Training Graduate. This recipient assisted Chef Paul with his catering for the Wine Pairing fundraiser working to help make it so successful. She’s married to Jim, a local developer/builder and has a son, Mark. She enjoys golf, travel, and the company of many friends. Congratulations to another September Shining Star – Rosemary Hammar.

Peterson Harter

Originally from New Orleans, today’s third Shining Star recipient has had an opportunity to live in many places, some of which include, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New York, California, and of course Naples, Florida. He has been a realtor since February, 2011 working for John R. Wood, Realtors. He’s a 2009 graduate of Culinary Institute of America and also assisted Chef Paul with the Wine Pairing event. With his help, this first time event ended in great success. Congratulations to Peterson Harter!

2011 NAR Tornado Relief

The need is immediate. I’m sure you have all heard of the horrific tornadoes in Missouri. Over 125 have died, at least 10 of the deceased are our fellow REALTORS®. Many are still seriously injured and in hospitals and have lost their homes. Please join us for the local fundraising effort to benefit the tornado victims. We have confirmation from NAR that our funds will be immediately directed to those in need. See flyer attached and email from NAR President, Ron Phipps below.Join us Wed. MESSAGE FROM OUR NAR PRESIDENT

To: All REALTORS® and Association ExecutivesDeadly tornadoes have ripped through a number of states in the last month. The images from the aftermath of the tornado that tore through Joplin, Missouri, only tell half of the story. The survivors are now beginning to tell theirs. One is of a grandfather, crammed into the tub holding his wife and granddaughter tightly, refusing to look up because he was too afraid of what he wouldn’t see—the roof of his home. All that remains of his home now is the tub.

Sadly, this story is one of the bright spots from that tragic day. Currently at 125, the death toll is still rising as recovery efforts take place.

REALTORS® and state and local associations opened their hearts and stood tall when our nation was attacked on 9/11, and when Katrina struck Louisiana and Mississippi. Now it is time for the REALTOR® family to stand tall again. Your donation to the REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF) will directly help those who have lost so much. We are gearing up to send disaster assistance to Missouri, even as we continue our goal of helping the southeastern states who have endured the unimaginable. We know we’ll be hearing from others who need us—it’s just a matter of time. But we can’t do it without your help.
